Representing GOODWOLF
Representing GoodWolf at a Fitness Summit in Arizona
Recently, I had the opportunity to attend a Fitness Summit in Arizona alongside some of the brightest minds in the fitness industry. The event brought together studio owners, instructors, and fitness professionals from across the country to share ideas, learn from one another, and discuss where our industry is headed.
One of the greatest honors of the weekend was being invited to serve on a Q&A panel.
What made that invitation especially meaningful was that I was the only independent studio owner on the panel.
I was asked to speak about the realities of owning and operating a boutique fitness studio—what works, what doesn't, how we navigate challenges, and how we've built a business that continues to grow after seven years.
But the conversation quickly became about something much bigger than business.
It became about people.
One of the topics discussed was how GoodWolf continues to operate so smoothly when I'm away from the studio.
GoodWolf never skips a beat.
That isn't because of systems alone.
It's because of the incredible people who make up our team.
Our instructors don't simply show up to teach a class. They lead. They communicate. They solve problems before they become problems. They care deeply about our members and about each other.
Our front desk staff welcomes every person through the door with kindness and consistency.
Everyone understands that GoodWolf belongs to all of us.
Whether I'm standing in the studio or speaking on a panel halfway across the country, our members receive the exact same experience. Classes begin on time. The studio stays clean. Members feel welcomed. Questions get answered. Problems get solved.
That kind of culture doesn't happen overnight.
It has been built class by class, conversation by conversation, relationship by relationship.
During the panel, we also discussed staffing, retention, scheduling, member experience, leadership, and creating communities that people genuinely want to be part of. It was encouraging to realize that many of the things we've intentionally worked toward at GoodWolf are now becoming best practices that other studio owners are trying to build themselves.
I came home with pages of notes, fresh ideas, and renewed excitement for what's ahead.
You'll begin to see some of those ideas make their way into GoodWolf over the coming months—not because we need to change who we are, but because we are committed to continually improving for our community.
To every member who walks through our doors...
Thank you.
To every instructor who pours their heart into teaching...
Thank you.
To every staff member who keeps this place running with excellence...
Thank you.
Representing GoodWolf on that stage wasn't about me.
It was about representing our community—a place where people come to become stronger, healthier, more confident, and more connected.
I'm incredibly proud of what we've built together.
And after spending time with studio owners from around the country, I can confidently say this:
What we have at GoodWolf is special.
Here's to continuing to grow, learn, and lead together.
See you at the studio.
